This lack of creativity was accompanied by something more concerning.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><b>Procrastination.&nbsp;<\/b><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">She wondered to herself: \u201c<\/span><b>I wasn\u2019t consciously procrastinating<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, but I had the feeling that something inside me was holding me back, but what was it?\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"giants-of-all-sizes\"><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Giants of All Sizes<\/span><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Problems like this have a way of snowballing if they\u2019re ignored for long enough.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Unfortunately, they also often tend to get worse before they get better.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">That was the situation Ellen soon found herself in.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cThe real problems began when my sleep was affected \u2013 <\/span><b>I wasn\u2019t sleeping through the night<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, I had tremors, I woke up in cold sweats&#8230;\u201d&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><b>Every day she\u2019d feel more and more tired.&nbsp;<\/b><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">But then, by evening time, suddenly she felt like she had plenty of energy.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It\u2019s a strange paradox, <\/span><b>waking up feeling exhausted<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> but being <\/span><b>unable to sleep until 3 AM<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> the very same day.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cI couldn\u2019t figure out where these feelings had come from. <\/span><b>I was trying all the typical methods to change it<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, like reading books, not using my phone before bed, etc.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>But nothing worked.&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ellen was becoming more and more exhausted by the day.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Until she finally hit a <strong>breaking point.&nbsp;<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"forget-myself\"><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Forget Myself<\/span><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ellen\u2019s faltering performance at work hadn\u2019t gone unnoticed by her peers and manager \u2013 but luckily, she worked in a company that understood that humans aren\u2019t robots, and at times things are more complicated.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">They didn\u2019t go as far as to offer support, but they did allow her the time to get back to her best.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">But Ellen knew deep down that this grace under pressure wouldn\u2019t last forever.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">And after a few more weeks, her manager <strong>gave her an ultimatum<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><b>\u201cShe came in and told me, \u2018Fix this, or you will be replaced.\u2019\u201d<\/b><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ellen was crushed. She enjoyed her job, despite the boredom that sometimes came with it. She never wanted to do anything other than writing, but suddenly the <\/span><b>writing was on the wall<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">She knew she had to do something.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">So she did what anyone would do; she Googled her symptoms.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Aside from the usual nonsense that came up, she found some online psychology groups and forums to join.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">After a while and during a conversation with a fellow forum member, she had a lightbulb moment.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cHe was talking to me about something called <\/span><b>Bedtime Procrastination<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.
